Runtastic Heart Rate Monitor App Reviews

This app is really nice and easy to use however one major issue Ive noticed is that it always gives you a heart rate higher then it really is. Like I tested it at home with my own equipment and another app, my heart rate came up as 75 and 73. This app said I was at 83. Thats a huge difference...

I have to place my finger over the camera at least three times before I get a reading, and sometimes that doesnt even occur. Ive noticed that I have a hard time getting a reading when my heart rate is under 40bpm. I would have purchased the Pro version if not for these defects. My resting heart rate ranges from 36-40, please provide more support for such heart rates.

App does not work , followed the directions and no response

Even if you upgrade you are continuously encouraged to sign up or suffer annoying clicks in skipping screens. I opted to uninstall and share my negative experience in a review. If I pay for an app I have already supported the developer, I do not expect to see further ads. If your work cannot sell itself, advertising within the app only makes it less appealing.

Its good it work 90% of the time but its hard not to move sometimes

Ive tried 5-6 times putting my finger on the camera lens and it beeps and shows 0 until about 80% done and another window pops ups explaining how to use the app to get a BP reading. I used this app before the update and didnt have any problems using the BP reading part of the app. It worked fine before and Im not doing anything different holding my finger over the lens.

This thing simply does not work.

This app literally (and I am not misusing the word) shows me an ad after every button press. Uninstalled.

I downloaded today and first attempt took a long time it eventually worked. After that each reading worked right away (even with my Protégée credit card phone case on) and took about 15 seconds each reading.

Works as well as always for me. An ad at least 2 times each time I open it? Done. Deleted.

I actually think this works pretty well. But the ads are making me crazy. It makes me watch an ad before I take my HR and then again before I SAVE my HR!!! Im probably going to delete this one and find another with fewer ads. Maybe they could switch to banner ads? Or track use and watch an ad every 2-3 uses?? But twice per use is just not worth it.

Tried it several times but it couldnt make any readings. Had success with other apps.

I was a long-time user of this app, it used to work even in the midst of exercise, now it no longer works at all.

This app worked 5-star well until the update in late January. Since then, it doesnt work at all, i.e. it does not pick up any heart rate. What used to be a great, useful app is now completely worthless.

I love the idea of using the camera and flash to measure heart rate. It works fairly well in practice too - usually reads it on the first try. It often struggles to get a good reading when my heart rate is fast after exercising. Improvements I would love to see: - ability to edit a measurement (to change the type) - ability to export the data in some meaningful way
